Do you ever tip your beautician or massage therapist at the beauty spa?
Just like to know if people ever tip their beauticians or massage therapists at the beauty salon/spa in the UK? I always tip if I’m happy with the overall service and generally I’m always happy with the service so i tip. Also i love making people happy when they’ve provided me with a good service.
How do UK beauticians and massage therapist feel about being tipped?
I think you should tip them a little something for the holidays if you are always using the same salon or person, but here is my little rant on tipping.

Are there massage schools where they offer discounted massages? Similar to how beauty schools give discounts?
I want me a massage!! lol
So yeah, who doesnt love a great massage…or even a bad massage?? Well I was just curious about this question my mom was talking about how she has Paul Mitchell school down the street from her house and how she goes in there for Pedi’s/etc….she thought that Paul Mitchell might even offer massage discounts, i’ll have to ask…but for now do any of you know?? Thanks =]
All the massage schools I know give them at a discount. Call around and you should be able to find something.

Working in beauty therapy on a cruise ship?
My sister has an interview for a cruise ship company working in the beauty therapy & massage department.
Does any one have any first hand experience of this or any interview/technique tips?
Thank you
There will be questions about working with older clientele, and with different nationalities. Might ask about being away from home for extended periods.
What beauty therapies are there for Epilepsy sufferers?
What beauty therapies (massage, facials, aromatherapy, etc) am i allowed to have as i’m an Epilepsy sufferer.I need a good pampering as i lead a very stressful life and could do with some TLC can anybody give me some useful tips and some much needed help. I can only do it on a daily basis as im not able to stay anywhere over night.
Thank you
You can have a massage – but it’s best to get a doctors clearance first, as well as it would be a good idea to have your DR refer you to a specific clinic or therapist. Good therapists know about the condition and will treat accordingly. I personally don’t have any clients with epilepsy – but my instructors in school had several. Even a few therapists themselves were epileptic.
As for other sorts of pampering – again it would be wise to get a doctors clearance. But for most things, I think you should be OK.
I fall asleep and snore during beauty treatments such as massages & facials. Should I be embarrasssed??
When I get beauty treatments done, I like to be relaxed. I don’t plan to fall asleep but thats what happens. Take the other day, my roommates & I went for pedicures. I close my eyes and get relaxed (that’s what I remember). They tell me once I fall asleep my mouth pops open & I start snoring really loud. (I am a mouth breather who snores). They say the serene peaceful environment has been invaded by a SNORING LOUD GROWLING BEAR!!! They say people laugh at me, get angry due to all the noise. I’m not trying to be insenstive, but I’ve paid my money, so what with the sound?? Do you agree?? Shouldn’t I be left alone?
1. Have you ever seen someone sleep & snore during beauty treatments (patrons, massage therapists, etc.)
2. If a massage therapist, etc., did you finish the treatment or pretend you did?
3. What would your reaction to the snoring be? (patron, massage therapist?
Alot of my clients fall asleep during their massage. This tells me they are very stressed, and I provide not only a great massage, but a comfortable enviorment for them to relax in. Now, during beauty treatments, i haven’t seen too many clients nap, but yes it does happen on rare occasion. For the sake of others around you, i’d say get a little more sleep. Its o.k. to enjoy what your recieving, but if its really loud snoring, this may create a negative enviorment for the other customers.
