Since about 2 weeks my back has started to ache from middle to lower back. I have a sit down job, where i’ll be sitting for 7.5 hrs a day. I tried to put a cushion behind but that didn’t help!
I get my husband to rub or massage my back at nights.

Have you any more ideas?

heat helps. i had one of those bags that are filled with lavendar and some other stuff, i dont know what, that you put in the microwave to heat up when i was still working and it was a life saver. i just heated it in the microwave, and put it between my back and my chair at my desk.

Does anybody have the Homedics QRM400 Therapist Select Quad-Roller Massaging Cushion? Is it worth purchasing? Does it feel like a real massage?

I bought my husband one for Christmas because he tried it out at Bed Bath & Beyond and LOVED it.

My dog and i have telepathy between us.When she wants something,she tells me with her eyes.She will stare at me and then when she gets my attention,she actually tells me what she wants.If she wants to go out for the toilet,she will sit in front of me and stare till she gets my attention,then she will slowly move her eyes to the door,then back to my eyes,she will do this until i let her out.If she wants me to fluff her cushion up for her she will do the same thing,when i have done it she will lie down and get comfortable.If she is a bit depressed,i can tell by her eyes,then i bathe her and massage her joints,she soon feels better.There are many other things she asks for by doing this.She never barks just stares.Does your dog have their ways of talking to you?
Yes it is absolutely true!
I obviously have a better relationship with my dog than i do with humans! Or maybe i am an alien!

Guess all us animal owners are then-I have 6, and I know what they want by the way they look at me, what the "tone" of their bark implies, (stranger alert, hey mom, I’m hungry, lemme go out" etc), and I can tell when one is sick and not feeling well. After I have a seizure, guess who sits around me in a circle and won’t let anyone near me? So, they do it in return. But it’s plain ol’ animal instinct…

My husband got me a massaging cushion(the kind you put on the couch or chair and sit on) for Christmas, because I am constantly complaining that my back hurts and I want him to massage it. I am 30 weeks pregnant, and I am worried that if I use the massager it will maybe shake around my baby too much and hurt her. I looked on the instruction manual for anything that tells me not to use it if I am pregnant, but found nothing. I desperately want to use it, but I don’t want to put my unborn childs life in jeopardy and I will not use it until I know for sure. Does anyone know, or should I wait and ask my doctor next week at my checkup?

I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I was pregnant and asked my doctor before I used mine and they said it was perfectly OK. So I did nothing happened except my back feeling better. I even used it when I was in labor! Hot showers helped me too. The joys of pregnancy, you are almost there!

I like the Homedics product which I currently use. I find that it relieves my back pain quite well. I also like their blood pressure machine.

OK. Today, my best friend claims to be straight. I am gay, and he knows it. Lately he always want me to massage his hand ( I practice reflexology) now sometimes i just get tired so i stop and just hold his hand, making a little "hint hint" for him and he just held my hand. soon after, he let go of my hand and he laid on the couch and he patted the cushion for me to lay next to him. He soon after started to massage my shoulders and neck and back(lower and upper) when he finished I laid down my head on his shoulder and he put his arm around me and I reflexology his hand. His sister called and he had to leave, he got up and I noticed he had a "hard-one"
Now he claims to be straight, but none of m straight friends act like he does. I do want to take it to the next level. Is he gay, if so, how should I take it to the next level?

Be careful.

I had at least two straight friends who liked to "push the envelope" with me in terms of their physicality (cuddling, massaging, etc.)…. they both later got married and fathered children. I think they genuinely liked me, and knew I liked doing that, and were willing to go "up to a point" but there was a line they would never cross.

I think unless they have gay sex, they are not gay…. and sometimes, not even then! They could just be experimenting. If you are out and nice, some people will use you in their exploration and curiosity. Just be aware and be prepared.

This behavior started as a puppy. He’d pull the cushion out of his bed, scrunch it between his arms, stuff his mouth with it, and dig his paws into it. When we bought him a different bed, he did it to one of my pillows. When that got torn up, we bought him his own fleece blanket, which he’s been massaging/stuffing his mouth with for 9 years now.

It looks similar to a cat’s kneading. Here’s the strange thing though: Before he settles down with the blanket, he’ll swing it around with his mouth, then aggressively shove it between his legs, forming it into a ball. Then he grabs it with his mouth, lays down and massages it. This’ll go on for about 5 minutes, then he simply gets up and goes to his bed to sleep.

I’ve heard different theories… He’s a purebred Beagle – maybe he’s imagining he’s caught another rabbit? Or is it a security thing? I’m not sure if it’s a nesting thing because he always moves away from it when he’s done and sleeps elsewhere.

My kitten does this to blankets, shell knead them with her paws and suckle on them until she falls asleep. I found her thrown in a garbage can when she was very tiny, too small to be away from her mother.It seems those who were not weaned properly exhibit this behavior, kneading is an instinct that helps the flow of the mothers milk. Did you get him at a really young age? If not its probably just a comfort thing.

I received a used massage chair for Christmas and the previous owner quite obviously smoked like a chimney in her home. I’m replacing the face cradle cushion, but cannot afford to replace all of the cushions. I’ve been alternating between wiping it down with vinegar and leaving a baking soda paste on it for 24 hours and then wiping it down again. It is drawing some of the tar out. I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions that may work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Shaving cream.

I know it sounds a little unusual, but try it just once and you will be amazed.

Lather some shaving cream onto the vinyl, then wipe away with a damp paper towel.

Shaving cream is nothing but whipped soap that rinses off easily. It will remove all traces of the smoke smell.

Shaving cream also works on leather.
