Going to the spa to get facials can get expensive, especially if you go on a regular basis. I love to do a “spa night” at my home every week or so, and the “at-home” facial is part if my routine.

Here is what you need:

1. Mild Cleanser

2. Exfoliant- with both chemical and physical exfoliants (Granules and a acid or enzyme)

3. Clay or Deep Pore Cleansing Mask

4. Hydrating or Antioxidant Rich Mask

5. Serum- with hyaluronic acid

6. Moisturizer

7. Avocado Pit or Facial Massager

Here is what you do:

1. Cleanse 2x- Cleanse your skin for 30 seconds to a minute. If you have access to the Clarisonic, be sure to use that. Once you have finished your first cleanse, you can cleanse again for 15 seconds.

note: If you have access to a face steamer (available and most local drugstores), steam your face after cleansing for 2 minutes.

2. Exfoliate- Apply the exfoliant on to the skin and gently rub it for 30 seconds. Leave on the skin for an additional 30 seconds to a minute, and rinse with warm water.

3. Mask #1- Apply a thin layer of the deep pore cleansing or clay mask, and leave on the skin till the mask becomes hard, or according to instructions. Wash the mask off with a warm washcloth.

4. Mask #2- This mask should be gentle and hydrating to the skin. Apply this mask onto the skin and let it sit onto the skin up to 20 minutes. Wipe this mask off with a warm washcloth.

5. Apply Serum- Apply serum, and pat it gently into the skin.

6. Apply Moisturizer- Apply moisturizer directly over the serum, and use the avocado pit to gently massage the moisturizer into the skin. The massage will bring blood flow to the skin, and allow for better penetration of your moisturizer.
